Short Bio:
Ms Sanjukta Mukherjee, Consultant, Research Fellow, Calcutta University, Business Management Department, Lead Auditor ISO 14000, SA 8000, Accredited Professional Indian Green Building Council, Mediator.
Former senior official with two of India’s leading and largest Chambers of Commerce and a senior facilitator coach, Ms Mukherjee, with 20 + years of experience is a social entrepreneur currently working with her own social start-up. Sanjukta is the Founder & Promoter of Optima Solutions, a business efficiency consulting firm, as well Founder Trustee of a development sector entity, the Sustainable Design Research Consortium, for social sector initiatives focussing on sustainability, climate change, gender and just transitions. She functions as a mediator affiliated and trained from the World Mediation Council(Berlin) with post-graduation qualification in Urban Environmental Management and Law from Delhi law University. Ms Mukherjee has been working for the last 7 years as a mediator, handling both commercial and social sector projects focussing on disputes on environmental mitigation, energy transition, proper utilisation of natural resources and conservation of both nature as well as heritage.
Under her leadership, SDRC has worked with national & International partnerships extensively on labour, livelihood, policy perspectives of sustainable development, narrative and discourse building and climate change issues linking them to gender, social structures & Intersectionality and Social entrepreneurship. In the developmental sector, SDRC is partnered with and runs collaborative work with international development organisations such as the US State Department, GIZ, World Mediation Council, The American Embassy, New Delhi, Madras School of Social Work, Indian Tea Association amongst other major international organisations, government agencies and the private sector. A US State Department alumni, her focus in the developmental sector principally lies in project design and planning; socio-economic and institutional analysis; advocacy & capacity building and policy analysis & research. Since 2014, she has been in consulting and advisory roles for multinational companies based in India, Italy and France with a focus on improving process level efficiency for MSME sectors and CSR strategy development & alignment.
In 2019 she was on the mentorship panel of the US Mission India Public Diplomacy Grants Program for the US Exchange Alumni. She has written on sustainability, mediation, just transitions and social impact issues for The World Mediation Council, Society for Policy Studies of the South Asian Monitor etc and speaks in numerous conferences and seminars.
